How to prep your hair for hot tools
It’s true everyone wants beautiful silky hair. One the most common questions I get from clients is how do I use a hot tool without causing extra damage. It doesn’t matter if you have curly, wavy or straight hair, using a good quality hair prep product is essential to gorgeously styled, healthy hair.
To start, I always recommend towel drying your hair post shower. Adding a heat protector and brushing it through to the ends thoroughly saturating. When it comes to how much product is needed, it’s always a good idea to go with the recommendations of the product you’re using. It’s important to remember that every time you are using a hot tool, a heat protector must be applied. That goes for dry hair as well. You shouldn’t have to rewet it every time, but in order to protect your hair from long term damage I would highly recommend not skipping this step.
